Unbeerlieavable News From WSET

Life at WSET (Wine Spirit Education Trust) and official wine education partner of The Wine Show, is slowly returning to normal post-lockdown. Not only are students returning to classroom learning, but the Trust has an exciting project up its sleeve.

WSET has announced that it intends to develop a suite of beer qualifications. WSET already offers qualifications in three subject areas – wine, spirits and sake – and plans to add two beer qualifications (Levels 1 and 2) to its portfolio, both online and in the classroom.

Development is still at an early stage, but it is understood WSET will be working in partnership with the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) on this initiative.

During Lockdown WSET kept spirits buoyant not only by increasing online teaching so that students would have the least disruption to their studies, but by exploring fun topics like How to Pair Wines With Your Favourite Takeaway, and Understanding Flavours in Gin. Subjects greatly enjoyed by students and alumni.
