Is this one of the great wines of the world? Quite possibly. It needs time, but the early signs are looking good. Brainchild of Norwegian entrepreneur Alexander Vik, this incredible Chilean vineyard produces a wine that is beautifully balanced between dried fruit heft and elegant plum and currant freshness. Intense at first, lingering on the finish with new flavours emerging. A very precise blend of Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the minutest hints of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. Unquestionably, it’s a classic. If you buy some, leave it for at least a decade. Assuming you can keep your hands off it for that long…
