The Bagnum is a magnum of wine in a bag. It was created by London winemaker Andrew Nielsen who wanted to challenge the dated wine packaging traditions.
95% of bottled wines bought in the UK are drunk within 24 hours, meaning the expensive cost of bottling wine – largely for aging – is unnecessary for the majority of UK wine drinkers. By packaging wine in a bag, carbon emissions can be reduced by up to 80% and the final cost of the wine by 30%. It also reduces waste. Currently a third of the UK’s 1.2bn wine bottles drunk each year end up in landfill.
RRP – 1.5L bag starts from £27.50.
