An acclaimed actor of the stage and screen, James Purefoy is best known for his roles in Rome (HBO) and The Following (Fox).
James Purefoy has also starred in Hollywood blockbusters, with film credits including John Carter, Solomon Kane, A Knights Tale and Resident Evil. He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company performing in Macbeth, King Lear and other plays. James returned to the big screen as King George VI in historical thriller Churchill, starring fellow British actors Brian Cox and Miranda Richardson in 2017.
James continues to work in televised dramas; he currently starring in television drama series Hap and Leonard (Sundance TV), he will also appear in the Netflix series Altered Carbon, set for release in 2018.
